Our approach

We want this website to be usable for as many visitors as possible, including people using a keyboard, screen reader or other assistive technology. That's an ongoing goal we build into new features as we add them, rather than a one-time checklist.

What we've built in

• Descriptive labels on interactive elements (menus, dialogs, form fields) for screen readers
• Full keyboard navigation for the mobile menu, the Treatment basket drawer and the concierge chat, including closing them with the Escape key
• Visible focus handling when menus and dialogs open, so keyboard focus lands somewhere sensible
• Alt text on service, journal and specialist images where it's been provided

Known gaps

We don't yet claim full conformance with a specific standard (e.g. WCAG 2.1 AA) across every page. If you run into something on this site that's difficult to use with assistive technology, we'd genuinely like to know about it.
